Stability of Magma Reservoirs

The stability of magma reservoirs is a key mechanism controlling the injection of magma within the lithosphere [Pinel and Jaupart, 2003; Grosfils, 2007]. Deciphering the behavior of hidden magmatic systems mainly relies on the understanding the connection between shallow surface magmatism and related surface expressions which provides first-order insight into the volcanic and tectonic processes that shapes a planet evolution [McGovern and Solomon, 1993; Grosfils and Head, 1994; Grosfils and Head, 1996; Ernst and Buchan, 1997; McGovern and Solomon, 1998; Ernst et al., 2001; Galgana et al., 2011; Galgana et al., 2013; Grosfils et al., 2013].
